Turbulence Hits London to Singapore Flight

Over 140 Passengers and Crew Injured

A Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore hit severe turbulence on Monday, injuring over 140 passengers and crew members. The flight, SQ321, departed Heathrow Airport at 10:38 pm local time with 211 passengers and crew on board.

According to aviation tracking site FlightRadar24, the turbulence occurred about an hour after takeoff, while the plane was flying over northern France. The plane made a sudden descent of over 1,000 feet, causing passengers and crew to be thrown from their seats.

The pilot declared a medical emergency and diverted the plane to Bangkok, where it landed safely. Over 140 passengers and crew members were injured, with 33 requiring hospitalization. The injured passengers were taken to a local hospital for treatment, while the remaining passengers were accommodated in hotels.

Singapore Airlines has expressed its concern and is providing assistance to the injured passengers and their families. The airline is also investigating the incident and is cooperating with the relevant authorities.
